I am Stephanie Gabriel of 2GABESDesigns. My love of sewing started at age 8 when I used my mom's fabric scraps to make doll clothes. From that moment on I was hooked! I have attempted every technique you can imagine that involves a needle-cross stitch, embroidery, quilting, tailoring, crocheting, knitting and tatting. Sewing was always a hoppy as a young adult because I needed to pay the bills and work a daytime job. But in 2002 I was able to open my own shop called 'Stitcher's Harvest in Edwardsville Illinois. Owning that shop allowed me to perfect my craft and I received so much inspiration from my customers. Of course there were challenges with owning a 'brick and mortar' store and unfortunately I had to close the shop in 2004. However, my love of sewing did not wane. In 2019 my husband and I retired to Florida and built a home specifically designed around my sewing studio and it is truly my HAPPY PLACE! Now I am in my studio all day, every day which inspired me to re-open my Etsy shop. My creations are functional, yet beautiful. I am always looking and exploring new ideas for items that my customers will love. I have done several commissioned pieces for friends who want that 'one of a kind' project. My love for fabric, texture and color make me smile and have been my therapy all throughout my life.
So, the second Gabriel in my business is my husband Tony. While he has no idea what to do with a needle he knows how to ship items to my customers. He is my biggest cheerleader and supporter and I could not do this without him.
